Hichki · operations for the Indian wedding

The Indian wedding,
operated.

297 guests. 5 events. Every RSVP, every room, every arrival. Held in one place. Calm under your control.

Below — the failure modes hichki kills

We know what your week looks like

You're holding all of this
in your head.

The most expensive private event you'll ever organise. The most complex. The most emotional. And the system holding it together is you, your mum, and a WhatsApp group called “Wedding Final 2.” That's not a system. That's a person under pressure.

  • T-4

    Mama-ji's flight lands 7:14 AM.

The driver knows 7. Nobody told the driver about the 14.

  • T-3

Half the Delhi guests still haven't sent their travel.

You asked in the group on Sunday. The group has moved on.

  • T-2

ITC releases 9 unassigned rooms in 96 hours.

It's on the contract. It's not on anybody's calendar.

  • T-2

    Naina Kapoor's +1 has a name.

It's on a Post-it on your fridge. The headcount goes out tomorrow.

  • T-1

The Sangeet start time moved by an hour.

You told four WhatsApp groups. Two of them are archived.

  • Day-of

The gate is your cousin with a printout.

The headcount you give the caterer at 9:47 PM is a guess.

  • Day-of

Suresh Mama is at arrivals with no driver.

His third call comes through while you're in the mandap.

27 things you're tracking. 4 WhatsApp groups. 3 Excel sheets. One brain.

You're doing this brilliantly — and you shouldn't have to do it alone.

The system

What an operated wedding
looks like.

Hichki doesn't track tasks. Hichki tracks the moments where things break — and stops them from breaking. Five of them, in order:

  1. 11 AM, T-7

    step 01

The 14 pending RSVPs get a WhatsApp.

Per-family, in their language, with the venue map and the dress code. By lunch you have 12 replies and 2 you can phone personally.

  2. T-3, 9 AM

    step 02

    The ITC block alert hits.

Nine rooms still unassigned, days before the block releases them. It surfaces early, not via a WhatsApp DM at 11 PM. Assigned by lunch — who shares with whom, and which arrival each key is waiting for.

  3. T-2, noon

    step 03

The headcount locks 48 hours out.

Per function, per side — frozen and sent to the caterer as a link that expires when the wedding does. Nobody is forwarding a spreadsheet. Nobody is remembering a number.

  4. Day-of, 6 AM

    step 04

Driver Ramesh's day starts as a single card.

Suresh Mama's flight, the terminal, the sign with his name, the route to ITC. Driver confirms read at 6:12. At 6:47 his phone says he's left home.

  5. Day-of, 8:30 PM

    step 05

Varmala starts. 198 guests are in.

QR scan at the gate, live count on your phone. Caterer adjusts the buffet on the fly. You are not counting. You are dancing.

This is not aspirational. It's what hichki does, every day, for every wedding it runs.
